It's a Matter of Point of View...

One of my goals this year is to learn more about photography and specifically about using my camera to it's full potential.  My top priority was to get out of 'auto' on my DSLR camera (and stay out!), which so far is going well.  I've also switched to shooting in 'raw' and I'm learning that it gives me a lot more wiggle room in Lightroom.

Today's photo collage is a study of point of view.  The subject is an fun little assemblage piece that I created a few years back at my friend Sandra's Open Studio.

The collage itself was created, literally in minutes, using the Print module in Lightroom 4.  If you've been considering it, you've got to go ahead and get Lightroom and then take Kim Klassen's Round Trip class.  You won't regret it!

  1. Linda, your fibre art is just stunning! I love the colors in this piece - it's bold and whimsical and just plain fun to look at :)

Great take on the 2B challenge and great collage, too - I was given Lightroom 4 late last year, but have yet to use it. I would love to take Kim's Round Trip, but must wait till finances allow...

    TFS :)

  2. Just beautiful!! You brave person shooting in 'RAW'....I haven't tried that yet but many people love it because of the flexibility in post-processing. This is just wonderful.

    1. Thanks Danielle. Yes, I keep reading so many things that say raw is the only way to go so I thought it was time to jump in. And it's wonderful. I really don't know why I hesitated so long!

    1. Thanks Viv. As for shooting raw, that's the beauty of Lightroom. It allows you to do your edits, etc. and then print to file in jpeg for use on your blog or where ever.

    1. Thanks Suzette. I can certainly recommend Round Trip. I just got Lightroom so it was perfect timing. I waited until the class started before I even opened the software and Kim's great instruction has made everything so easy.

    1. Thanks Beverly. I was really lucky to get Lightroom for my birthday, which was right before the RT class started. I didn't even look at Lightroom, except to install it, until the class started so I had Kim walking me through every step as I started. Fantastic. I'm just finishing up the day 7 lessons. Only one more day of classes after that, but I'm feeling really comfortable with Lightroom and know that I'll continue to learn from Kim in Beyond Beyond throughout the year. She's such a great teacher!

    2. Yes, I agree Linda, I'm looking foward to this year and all the things we will learn from the great teacher, Kim. I now use LR as much as I do PSE when I am processing photos! I've had it since LR-1, using the basics. Now I click around and do all kinds of things. LOL
